Ten pressed plates
Most glossaries explain chiaroscuro in words. This one draws it. Ten riso-style plates sit beside the terms they belong to: the pointed arch against the round one, the vase that flips into two faces, one point perspective, the bowl mended in gold. Each was drawn for this edition and appears nowhere else.
Pressed, not typeset
Every color on the sheet is an ink plate with its own wear, misregistration and bite, the way a real press leaves a page. Worn display type, ink that sits down into the paper, honest cream stock. It is a file, but it behaves like an object.
How it works
